The Homestead Wedding | Kendra Denault Photography | Amanda + Jake

September 1, 2020

A lot had to come together for Jake and Amanda’s day to be as special as it was! Through all the changes and the wedding day rain, I’d say their wedding day was just as it was supposed to be all along – cozy, meaningful, and authentic. When I first arrived, I met Jake and Amanda’s mom’s who said Amanda was taking a quick nap before the day got started – smart girl. I got started photographing her details and it wasn’t long until she came out and said there’s no way she could actually rest! She was ready to get the day started. She got ready and had a fun first look with her bridesmaids before we left the cottage for her first look with Jake. Luckily, the neighbors close by were kind enough to let us use their back porch! The view off the back was gorgeous overlooking a valley which was all foggy due to the rain. Their first look was so sweet and I expected nothing less. Jake and Amanda were troopers and we headed out into the rain where they shared a single umbrella for some portraits. Although they weren’t able to have their ceremony outside at the top of the ski lift, we were able to spend a few minutes up there to take advantage of the views. Their ceremony and reception were inside Mountain Flowers Lodge where the ceilings was decorated with wood beams and string lights. The smaller guest count really made the whole event feel so much more intimate and meaningful. So many kind words were spoken about the both of them throughout the day. Congratulations on your beautiful marriage, Jake and Amanda! <3
